What is Elder Law?

Elder law is a term coined to cover an area of legal practice that places an emphasis on issues that affect the growing aging population.

Many areas of law have important implications in the lives of older adults.

While some people might think of elder law in the context of wills and estate planning, much of the area of elder law has to do with how older adults live, not how they die.

Laws need to considered and applied in the context of the realities of older adults' lives.
